Our manufacturing client was suffering significant problems in their production team resulting in poor trading results (losses) and poor cash flow. We set up a schedule of monthly meetings and special financial reporting (using their own generic accounting software) identifying the contribution of each production team to profit. By focusing on specific improvement actions such as team structure, leadership and accountabilities, the team’s productivity and contribution improved over time to achieve substantially better results and overall profitability. This, and a focus on debtors and actions to reduce the average owing, improved their bank position by over $200,000.
